Beach Babies

We survived a beach trip!!! The babies loved the water, which would be a good thing if I had six arms. Since my body has yet to genetically adapt for toddler triplets, I felt lucky to have the whole family with us.  Even though it was lots of work, the babies had a blast! Thats all that really matters to me.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip. Happy Summertime!

My beautiful Louise. She is turning into my little supermodel. I had so many great pictures of  her on the beach, it was hard to narrow it down.

Fun with Daddy!

After a good roll in the surf, Charlie looked at the ocean with this funny face for  a few days.  I like to call it his old man face.

Reece was a happy girl playing on the beach.

Building sand castles.

Love my Reece!

March for Babies

This was our 1st year participating in the March of Dimes,  March for Babies and it was a huge success! It was awesome to see how many family teams are involved and to know that similar events are going on all over the country.  Family teams are the heart of the March for Babies campaign. They are made up of friends and family members that walk to celebrate, honor or remember the babies and children who have touched their lives. Every team had a different story, a different NICU battle and a different outcome, but we walk together for the same goal......Stronger, healthier babies!!!

The day of the walk it was slightly overcast which made for perfect walking weather. Thanks to everybody who donated and walked with us! It feels so good to be able to give back to an organization who has given our family hope. We were able to raise close to  $9,000 for the March of Dimes, which made us the #1 family team for Spartanburg.

For me, the walk was so much more than a fundraiser. It was a celebration! We are so lucky to be where we are today. There were so many days that I would have never pictured this as our future. Three beautiful babies leading relatively healthy lives. My prayers are answered thanks to the the March of Dimes and their lifesaving research on prematurity.

To my loving family and sweet friends,
Thank you, for walking with us, for donating to this cause and for being my support. You have held me together during trying times, and because of that I have been able to be the strong mama my babies needed on this miraculous journey. For the first time, I can say I'm not scared for what the future holds for my children. We can handle anything because of our strong and loving support system. Thanks for EVERYTHING!

Happy Easter and Exciting News!!!!

Happy Easter
2012

Easter was a lot of fun this year. The babies are really starting to get into holidays, which makes things fun for everybody.  Heres a few pics....

Reece and Charlie so excited about their Easter baskets......

Charlie loved his bunny.

I'm sure one day Lousie will look back at these pictures and ask why she was wearing Christmas pajamas on Easter.  NOTE TO SELF.....cute pammys on Easter, there will be pictures. I was too worried about stuffing the Easter eggs with "non choke" hazards.

Sweet Reece battled her allergies most of Easter, but she did win the egg hunt!

Louise had fun
 Charlie, was a busy booger...

Yay, all 5 of us in 1 picture!!!!! Haven't had one of these since halloween.

Happy Easter, Peanuts!!!

And in more exciting news........
Weezie decided to switch one cranial accessory for another. She got glasses.

And....
Reece, Lousie and Charlie are getting their 1st cousin!!!!!
Congrats, Aunt Laney and Uncle Pup. We are so excited!

R.I.P.

Dearest Lil Pink Helmet,

We're not sure if we should burn you or plate you in gold......

We are going to miss decorating you in finest seasonal stickers. You turned out to be quite the accessory, reciving complements most everywhere we went. You had the tough job of framing one of the most beautiful faces in the world and, you did it well. We are also going to miss the protection you gave to a toddling 18 month old. We will always remember how you saved the day when mommy and Louise took a tumble down the steps.  There were many days Mommy wished there were 3 little helmets running around, things would be safer that way.

We will not be missing your STANK. It was mind boggling how a sweet little angel of a girl could conger up such a smell. Mommy is NOT going to miss the way you gave her nosebleeds during temper tantrums. We're also not going to miss hunting you down after Charlie would
get a hold of you.

All and all, you have become a friend to us. You represent a journey. A journey of a little girl on the path of  healing. To that, we thank you, lil Pink helmet!

March of Dimes

This year we are so excited to get involved with the March of Dimes, March for Babies campaign. This is a cause that is very close to the heart of my family. We're getting involved to help improve the health of future babies and to honor the journey of our babies, Reece, Louise and Charlie.

So, what exactly is the March of Dimes??? March of Dimes was founded by F.D.Roosevelt in 1938 to address the Polio epidemic. When that mission was accomplished, they turned there focus to improving the health of babies. Today, the money raised by the March of Dimes funds research and programs that offer preventions and solutions for premature babies and babies with birth defects. They also provide support to NICU families, fund community programs that give expectant mothers the best chance of having a healthy babies, and advocate for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children.

Without the March of Dimes, many of the life saving interventions that happened while our babies were in the NICU, would not have been possible.  To put it bluntly, the March of Dimes saved my children's lives. To that, I owe a firm and passionate dedication to this cause. Who's with me?

The March for Babies campaign is a yearly fundraising walk. Families, like us, who have been personally touched by the mission of the March of Dimes, come together to raise money and march for a common goal... Healthier, Stronger Babies.

So, come walk with us, help us raise money or just donate 5 dollars. Anything will do. This is truly an amazing thing. From now until the walk, I'm going to do a few posts on prematurity and how it has affected the life of my family. Hopefully, this will help to put a face with the problem and motivate more people to do something.
