Feburary Update

The month of February has been our babies best month yet. Everybody is progressing with all of their therapies and we have had lots of "firsts".

The babies have started to try some solids. Sometimes it goes well and other times not so much. I've decided to make my own organic baby food. With my handy "magic bullet" its really quite easy. I just steam, puree, and freeze whatever veggie it may be in an ice tray. The little cubes are convenient for thawing! So far, the group favorite is butternut squash.

All of the babies laughed out loud for the 1st time this month. This could very well be my favorite thing about motherhood so far. There is nothing better than to hear your baby laugh. Its also quite distracting because if a baby does decide to let out a laugh Ben and I usually spend the next 30 minutes or so trying to recreate whatever scenario made them laugh.

I saved the best news for last. Louise had her best ever appointment with Dr Troup. We have always been told that we are simply "buying time" until we have to put a shunt in to help drain the fluid off her brain. At her appointment with Dr Troup last week he told us there was a CHANCE that she may get out of this "shunt free". As long she continues to progress developmentally and shows no physical signs of increased brain pressure, we will get a CT scan in a few months and go from there. Louise has done nothing but prove to us time and time again that she is a fighter. Her battle is not over yet, but with a little prayer I honestly feel that she will lead a normal healthy life.
Our friend Liza came and took some pictures of us this past month. I think they turned out great! Thanks Liza! Here are a few of my faves......
